I Already have a logo? Can I
use it as a favicon?
Answer: Yes. Well, maybe.
If you already have a logo, it may not work as a
favicon. It may be too detailed. Many logo's need to be
reworked or recreated to have a pleasant appearance.
Bank of America, for example, barely gets away with
being able to use their existing logo as a favicon.
See how Bank of America uses their logo for a
favicon? The logo is fairly simple but it still is a little fuzzy when
you shrink it down. This is to be expected. After all, the icon
is only 16 x 16 pixels.
What about Photo's as favicons?
No
problem.
Below, I took a
photograph of my nephew did
some editing to create a favicon.

Photographs, existing logos, custom

Sure, anybody can learn how to do

software you use...OOPS...your
web host doesn't support this file!!
Finally!!
You think you have it right. You upload your
image. You format everything correctly...OOPS...your
favicon shows up in Firefox browsers but Explorer is
ignoring it. Now what?
